Atlanta Braves Opening Day 40-Man Roster 2013

The Braves' roster for 2013 underwent an overhaul as Chipper Jones retired and several other key players were lost to free agency or trades. Michael Bourn found his way to Cleveland, David Ross to Boston, Tommy Hanson to the Angels and Martin Prado to Arizona. These key players though made way for the Upton brothers, BJ and Justin, giving Atlanta a power threat they have not seen in years. Meanwhile Jason Heyward and Freddie Freeman continue to mature and much is expected of a young rotation containing Mike Minor, Kris Medlen, Julio Teheran and Paul Maholm. Tim Hudson provides the veteran anchor presence. Of course, the roster would not be complete without strikeout king and Cy Young candidate Craig Kimbrel returning in the closers role.
